According to the department’s Facebook page, they responded to a house fire in which no humans were home, but they did see the poor, lifeless pup hiding in a laundry room . “They immediately began resuscitation efforts and supplied oxygen. The dog was taken by the Assistant Chief and Captain to a veterinarian office in Casa Grande and will make a full recovery. The firefighters all pitched in to cover the bill for the dog to further assist the owner in this difficult time.”
The pup, named Tucker, will need ongoing veterinarian treatment. Tucker’s human and owner of the home lost everything. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help.

“In today’s world where we are inundated with reports of terrorists and murders, drug and alcohol addictions, unimaginable cruelty that people perpetrate on each other and animals, and ugly insults from one politician to another, it’s deeply gratifying to witness kindness.“
Travelers remained patient as law enforcement cared for the dog until animal control arrived– he was taken to Greenwood County Animal Shelter where he was treated and released back to his owner.
Thanks to our heroes for going above and beyond for our furry friends!
