Humane Society of Tennessee Valley Holds the 23rd Annual Bark In The Park
Events with dogs are FUN events! Not only do you get all of the wags and slobber, you get happy people who are coming together for a good cause! On June 17 from 3-7PM at World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, Pet Treater will be participating in the 23rd annual Bark in the Park event, a family friendly event that supports the Humane Society of The Tennessee Valley. I interviewed Kris, who runs the event to get the inside scoop on what to expect!
What to expect:
Dogs
Everyone’s furry family member is welcome as long as they are friendly in a crowd, so bring them along for some fun in the sun!
Things to remember if you bring your dog:
- Clean up: There will be clean up bags supplied at the park
- Leash: All dogs need to be on a leash at all times.
- Be respectful!
Games
There will be a lure course, ball catch, peanut butter licking contest, and the best overall crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Bark!
Rescue Organizations
Bark in the Park will have Rescue Alley, where all of the rescue organizations will be set up to show you the work they are doing. This is a great opportunity to work with a rescue to find the perfect dog for your family!
Kid Activities
Kid’s Corner will have lots to do for the little ones in your family.
A Petting Zoo with goats, llamas, dogs and a snake! These all belong to some of our staff who are bringing along their animal friends for the kids to enjoy.
Water
There will be baby pools and shade tents set up to make sure everyone stays nice a cool on Saturday.
Vendors
This year, Bark in the Park has an amazing line up of vendors to make sure you are entertained, go home with prizes and learn about the newest and greatest in the dog product industry. Here is the list of vendors:
Animal ER and Specialty Center
Village Veterinary Medical Center
Marian Epps, Realty Executives

Children’s Author Jennifer Hultz
The main Sponsors for this year’s event are Grayson Subaru and Pilot Flying J. They will be set up in the middle along with the beer garden! So grab a cold one and hang with these great companies supporting a great cause!
The event is $10 at the door, and monies go to support The Humane Society of The Tennessee Valley with new anesthesia machines, additional kennels for large dogs and other major improvements to the facility. As a partner of many shelters, the humane society is a no kill facility that helps take in animals that so not have another shelter or home to go to. Come and support this great cause!
